About 4 million employees in the hair products industry in China

The 8th China Hair Fair and the 2016 Shanghai International Hair & Fashion Week opened on the 9th.  This event showcases hair-related products and technologies such as hairdressing, wig, hair raising, hair growth, and hair accessories.  The Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Process Technology is co-sponsored by ICD (China), the World Association of Style Designers.

“The 8th China Hair Fair and 2016 Shanghai International Hair & Fashion Week”took up 15,000 square meters of exhibition space at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition Hall and brought together more than 500 international hairdressing and wig industries to set industry trends, exchanges and transactions. In one function, it is expected to attract more than 50,000 industry distributors, buyers, agents and industry experts from around the world.

According to reports, in the 1960s, the production center of the world's hair products industry gradually shifted from Japan to South Korea, from South Korea in the 1980s to Shandong in China, and then from Shandong to Henan. At present, China is the world's first producer and exporter of hair products, and the number of employees in the hair products industry in the country is about 4 million.

The professional evaluation of the China Light Industry Technology Import and Export Chamber of Commerce believes that the Chinese hair products production industry, as a trendy sunrise industry, has the advantages of rapid development, intensive operations, industry concentration, and leading industry progress, and has a good development prospect. Take Xuchang in Henan Province, Lucheng City in Shandong Province and Taihe in Anhui Province as an example, the hair products industry has initially taken a market-based approach, with farmers as the mainstay, and enterprises as the leader, “purchasing and selling” the virtuous cycle, and the coordinated development of trade, industry, and farmers. The road of special development has become one of the pillar industries in some parts of the central and western regions.

“The 8th China Hair Fair and 2016 Shanghai International Hair & Fashion Week” will also hold the global fashion product trend release, the hair extension art contest, the hair product cross-border e-commerce conference,  the hairdresser dealer forum, and the China-US Daily Additions Industry development international forums and other activities.
